The science of sound – Bowers and Wilkins uses computer modelling to explore every aspect of loudspeaker design in their state of the art 800 Series Diamond range.
Matrix bracing uses interlocking panels to reinforce loudspeaker cabinet walls in all directions internally, reducing resonance and creating a more believable sound stage. The Matrix assembly in 801 D4 is the best yet, upgraded with extensive aluminium bracing to reinforce key stress points.
The all-aluminium turbine head houses the Continuum midrange cone in a stiff and critically damped enclosure, to eliminate unwanted resonances. At the same time it is decoupled from both the bass enclosure and the tweeter body, resulting in the most realistic midrange sound yet.
Available in gloss black, white, satin rosenut or satin walnut. Grille finishes – black, grey, black, grey.
